Dolphin Biography:

Chicago-born guitarist Nils Lofgren (1951-) made his professional debut, in 1968, as a member of Paul Dowell and the Dolphin. Although his playing helped to propel the band's two singles, "Get Together" b/w "Gubb's Blues" and "It's Better To Know You" b/w "Last Time I Saw You", in 1968, Lofgren didn't attract national attention until teaming with Neil Young half a decade later, Crazy Horse in 1972. Continuing to simultaneously lead his own band, Grin, he recorded four albums betwen 1971 and 1974 and a self-titled solo album in 1975.

Deer Biography:

Born in Islington, he seems to have been self taught. He was the secretary and later Treasurer of the Old Watercolour Society. All his plates were etched around the turn of the 19th century and is recorded as producing one lithograph at this time.
Hills studied at the Royal Academy Schools from 1788, having first received lessons in drawing from J.A. Gresse (1741-1794), and he began exhibiting at the Academy in 1791, and he was also a prolific etcher of such subjects, as the large number of prints which he made between 1798 and 1815 demonstrate. He was a founder member in 1804 of the important exhibiting society known as The Old Society of Painters in Watercolour or Old Water-Colour Society (OWS), and became its first secretary.

Tiger Biography:

After news recently spread that a neighborhood organization in Corte Madera, Calif., put up otter crossing signs, we set out in search of other unexpected brake-for-these-critters signage, like skiing kangaroos, angry deer and even wayward mermaids.

Some animals commit cruel or disgusting acts humans would consider immoral. What does this mean?

The BBC News addressed the question of cannibalism and infanticide among lions and other animals.  Anna-Louise Taylor offered several evolutionary explanations for why killing or eating one’s own offspring, or the offspring of a rival, “can benefit animals.”  For instance, males can beat their rivals by killing the young of another.  Females can allocate limited resources to the best offspring.  Both males and females might survive if food is scarce by eating their young.
